Sheffield Homes are now responsible for housing on behalf of the Council. Repairs to Council Housing (such as blocked drains, burst internal pipes, district heating, gas heating and electrical emergencies and boarding broken doors and windows): telephone (0114) 273 0101.  
 
Gas escapes: telephone (0114) 273 0101 or 0800 111 999. 
 
Emergencies occurring on the highway, including urgent highway/footpath repairs, street lighting faults, spillages, road traffic accidents and adverse weather conditions: telephone Street Force (24 hour standby) (0114) 273 4567 up to 6.00 pm and on 273 6530 after 6.00 pm
 
Social Services: telephone (0114) 273 4446.
